Message from Gloria D. Neer

Mr. Whitaker was always a pleasant person to see whether at school or anywhere in town. We would always chit-chat about how school was going and then after he retired he would always wonder how much longer I was going to teach. He cared about his students and his students cared about him. He was fair to ALL! Thoughts and prayers are with each of you.

Message from Maranda Williams

Mr. Whitaker was a wonderful man. Unfortunately, he was never a teacher of mine, however my brother was in his class. Even at a young age I could see how far he wanted his students to go, he was a dedicated and caring teacher. Later in life when I would see him out, we'd always talk. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Message from Chelsea Real

I loved Mr. Whitaker when my mother was a teacher at Eastside with him. I had the opportunity as a nurse to care for him in recent years and he was just as sweet then. He will be missed.
