Carmen C. (Hill) Reed, 83, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2026.
Born on June 7, 1943, in Wichita, Kansas, she was the daughter of Fred E. Hill and Aylene (Brewer) Hill. Carmen was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and loyal friend.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her liveliness, sense of humor, and fierce devotion to her family.
An avid creator and collector, Carmen found great joy in gardening, cooking, sewing, and hunting for antiques. In her later years, her heart belonged to her two beloved dogs, Lily and Max, who were her treasured companions.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and is survived by: Two brothers, John Ava and Frankie Hill; two sons, Edward and James Nicol; and one daughter, Dalene Duvall, all of Sallisaw. Eight grandchildren who adored their "Nan", Ella Nicol, Elana Nicol, Jessika Duvall, Jamey Hume, Chelci Reed, Meghan Tarin, Samantha Helms, and Ian Nicol, and six precious great-grandchildren.
Carmen was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Aylene; her late husband, Jewell Reed; and her brother, Frank Hill.
In accordance with Carmen’s explicit wishes, no formal funeral or memorial services will be held.
