Charles William Brewer, a dedicated family man and esteemed member of the community, passed away on February 27, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on March 9, 1950 in Denver Colorado, he lived a life filled with adventure, devotion, and service to his country.
Charles was a man of many talents and pursuits. He was an accomplished scuba diver and a licensed pilot, credentials that showcased his passion for exploring both the depths of the oceans and the vastness of the skies. For over 20 years, he served as a truck driver and instructor for Swift, imparting his extensive knowledge and skills to countless aspiring drivers.
His journey began in Canada, where he graduated high school before embarking on a distinguished military career. Charles proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was drafted in 1968 to serve in Vietnam. He later retired from the United States Air Force after 23 years of dedicated service. His commitment to service was a significant aspect of his life, and he carried his military values with him throughout his personal and professional endeavors.
In 1973, Charles married the love of his life, Rabiab "Bea" Brewer, whom he met in Thailand. Their union, which lasted for 45 years, was a testament to their deep love and partnership. Together, they created a loving home that was filled with warmth and laughter. In 2021, Charles moved to Sallisaw from Washington state, where he continued to build cherished memories.
As a member of the Church of Latter-Day Saints, Charles exemplified the virtues of service, community, and faith. He embraced his role as a Priesthood holder with a commitment to uplifting those around him.
He is survived by his three daughters, Elizabeth Brewer-Vander of Sallisaw, Michele Brewer and her husband Greg Moore of Tacoma, Washington, and Sue Brewer. Charles was a proud grandfather to Mercade Eyelander, Isabella Moore, Peter Jacob Lapin, and William Brewer, who brought immense joy to his life.
Charles was predeceased by his beloved wife Rabiab "Bea" Brewer, his father Willie Brewer, his mother Bertha Brewer Dorsey, and his brothers James and Robert Brewer. Though he is no longer with us, his legacy of love, service, and adventure will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him.
