Cynthia Annette (Darland) Hendrix, 63, of Gans, Oklahoma, passed away January 19, 2026, in Fort Smith, Arkansas.

Cindy married Gary Hendrix on November 24, 2004, where they resided in Gans, Oklahoma. She loved spending time with Gary, watching OU football, and Thunder basketball. In her younger days, Cindy was an athlete who played basketball all through high school and was also a part of a co-ed softball team coached by her uncle Charley. She was born and raised in Keota, where she graduated from high school and lived for many more years until moving to Gans in 1993. Cindy enjoyed spending time with her kids and was always present for any activity they had. She also enjoyed working with the elderly, where she started as a CNA and eventually ended up as the business office manager for the nursing home. Cindy gave her love and time so selflessly, and anyone who was around her could feel her calm presence and kind heart. She had a servant’s heart and would give the shirt off her back to anyone in need, as well as a sound ear to listen and never judge, a shoulder to cry on, and just an all-around amazing woman. Her laugh was infectious, and her smile could light up a room. A wife, a mother, a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a cousin, and a friend, Cindy will forever leave her mark on every person who knew her.

Cindy is survived by her husband, Gary; her children, Bobby Owens, Michelle Swimmer, Matt Barrett, and Kelli Manes; her sister, Laneal Timmons; her brother, Brian Darland; her grandchildren, Breonna, Merci, Ashya, Mallory, Riggs, Dee, Tra, Memphis, Paydin, Taylor, Maddy, Hayden, Lynden, and Brooklyn; her great-grandchildren Rowan, Remy, and River; many cousins, nieces and nephews whom she loved and cared for immensely.

Cindy is preceded in death by her grandmother, Edith Rouell; her mother, Lavell Darland; her father, Kenneth Gilpin; her sister, Beverly Darland; her bonus son, Brandon (Butch) Hendrix; her aunt, Pam Rouell; her uncle, Charley Rouell; and her niece, Adrianne Sisco.
