Donald C. Jones, 75, of Roland, OK, passed away on July 19, 2022.
He was born June 12, 1947, to Emmett and Emma Jones in Muldrow, OK.
Donald was stationed in Fort Benning, GA, and later served in Vietnam as a combat medic in the Army. He loved his country, and he was a family man who deeply loved his family and his friends. He loved to watch old westerns and cook for his family. He loved to sit and reminisce about the old days and always looked forward to get-togethers. One of the most important things in his life was when he became born again and served in the church while playing the bass guitar. He always looked forward to seeing his kids, grandkids, and great-grandchildren. That was the highlight of his life. He was a man that touched everyone’s life in a special way. He was one of the most thoughtful, selfless, and giving men you would ever meet.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Emmett and Emma Jones of Muldrow, OK; three brothers, Eudean Jones of Muldrow, OK, Jake Jones of Muldrow OK, and Leroy Jones of Muldrow, OK; two sisters, Pauline Wooldrige and Shirley Garwood of Muldrow, OK, and one great-grandson, Myles Schuetz.
Survivors include his wife, Sheila Jones of Roland, OK; one brother, Hobert and wife Jan Jones of Sallisaw, OK; one sister, Jeaniece and husband Ross Blythe of Fort Smith, AR; children, Jason and wife Lacey Jones of Russellville, AR, Jennifer Edwards of Muldrow, OK, Tarai and husband Leonard Thompson of Roland, OK, and Carlon Mitchell of Sallisaw, OK; grandchildren, Brannon Vonholt, Kaley Edwards, Kyle Edwards, Tarin Thompson, Dakota Jones, Isaiah and wife Justice Thompson, Kenzie Mitchell, Paige Mitchell, Rivers Jones, Bailey Caughern, and Joe Schuetz; great-grandchildren, Ivy Falkner and Aspen Edwards, and several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and a host of friends.
Visitation for Donald will be held on Monday, July 25, 2022, from 6-8 PM PM in the chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services in Roland, OK.
A graveside service will take place on Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 10 AM, at Fort Smith National Cemetery in Fort Smith, AR.
