Freda Ann Owens

Freda Ann Owens, 73, of Vian, Oklahoma was born September 7, 1945 to James Adam Wilson and Wilma Jewell Cawhorn. She passed away peacefully on Monday, July 1, 2019 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Freda was a lifelong resident of Vian, apart from the few years she spent living in Nowata, Oklahoma. She married former Nowata Principal, Jim H. “Bobby” Owens on May 28,1964, Although there were no children from the marriage, Freda spent many years as the Activities and Social Service Director of approximately 125 mentally and physically challenged young adults, she also held her real estate license and was a local nursing home administrator.Freda was survived by her husband of 55 years, Jim H. “Bobby” Owens; sister, Dorothy Taylor; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 5th, 2019 at 2pm at Landmark Missionary Baptist Church in Vian, Oklahoma. Burial will follow at Sallisaw City Cemetery.Active Pallbearers will be Richard Moseley, John Lawrence, John Owens, Chad Owens, and Dustin Owens, and Tommy Dale Taylor. Honorary Pallbearers are Ed Brockman, Don Brockman, John Brockman, Chief Elbon and Jerry Paul Simon.The family of Mrs. Owens has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw, OK.
