"Holly" Gaylene Cook

Gaylene Marie Cook, 54,  passed from this life on January 13, 2022, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Gaylene was born September 17, 1967, in Sand Springs, OK to George and Geneva Cook. She grew up in Vian, OK. Gaylene, who would later also be known as Holly, graduated from Vian High School in 1985. In 2004 she married Michael Cobb. Holly worked for Armstrong Bank for 20 years, retiring in 2010 to stay home to raise her youngest 3 children and tend to the family’s ranching operations. She spent 10 years as a foster mom as well.

Holly Gaylene was a hard-working wife and mother who put her family’s needs ahead of her own. She was a creative lady and a great cook. She loved being outdoors especially with her cattle, chickens, goats, and dogs. Her kids and grandkids made it even better for her. She always strived for perfection in all things.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Cobb; Son, Michael Sanford and wife Hannah; Son, Alex Cobb and wife Isabel; Daughter, Jessica Sanford and fiancé Wil Ramsey; Daughter, Shannah Keathley and husband Jon; Son, Eli Cobb and wife Angel; Daughter, Kadee Cook-Cobb and Bucko Luark; Son, Cobee Cook-Cobb; Daughters, Emilee Cook-Cobb, and Alexis Boyd; 9 grandkids; brother, Greg Cook and wife Jamie; brother, Ron Hoffman and wife Karyn; brother, Robert Hoffman and wife Heather; stepfather, Joe Hoffman; former husband, Steve Sanford and wife Jen, as well as many nephews, nieces, other family members, and friends.

She left us far too soon following her 16 month battle with Leukemia. Holly Gaylene was preceded in death by her parents, George and Geneva Cook; her birth mother, Marie Hoffman, and infant son Johnathan Sanford.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 5-8 PM in the chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services.
