Jacqueline Ann Hawkins

Jacqueline (Jackie) Ann Hawkins was born to Timothy Orville Banning and Gayle Marjorie Banning Sept.
22, 1933. She married William (Bill) Ray Hawkins on October 1, 1950. They gave birth to and raised six
children.
Jackie is most remembered for being a Godly mother who got her six children to a Southern Baptist
church every Sunday. She lived her faith and instilled love for Jesus Christ in her children, and what she
instilled in her children was passed down to the generations that have followed.
In addition to being an amazing mother, Jackie served as a driver’s education teacher, then middle
school secretary, and Sunday school teacher as she was raising her children in Houston. Jackie and Bill
bought property north of Muldrow, adjacent to the property of Jackie’s sister, Audrey Smith, in 1997.
They built their first home on the property and retired in the Muldrow community in 1998.
Jackie has been cared for in her later years by her daughter, Becky Pittman, wife of Pastor Bob Pittman,
and her son, Buddy Hawkins, with the assistance of Audrey Smith, her constant companion. Her
grandson, Bryan Tillman along with his wife Jayna Tillman have maintained the property and assisted
faithfully. Jackie Hawkins passed to eternity after a long bout with Parkinson’s Disease, in her bed at
home, on April 27, 2023.
Jacqueline Ann Hawkins is survived by five of her six children, Rebecca Pittman, Harold (Buddy) Hawkins,
Jennifer Seely, Kathryn Fant, and William Hawkins, sixteen grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded by her husband, William Ray Hawkins, her son Russell Lee Hawkins, and
granddaughter, Jacquelyn Faith Fant. She will be missed but remembered fondly by her family, friends,
and community.
