Jim Lee Blackbird

Jim Lee Blackbird, 39, of Marble City, Oklahoma, affectionately known as “Lil Man,” passed away on July 29, 2026, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born on October 31, 1986, in Tahlequah, Oklahoma, to Jim and Lilian Sue Blackbird. He was a roofer for 18 years who loved fishing, shooting pool, and his family.

He is survived by his wife, Susan Blackbird; his sons, Mason Blackbird and wife, Kaela, of Vian, OK and Riley Blackbird of Marble City, OK; his daughters, Shaylynn Blackbird and Baylee Blackbird, both of Marble City, OK; his brother, Julian Buzzard and wife, Chrissy of Sallisaw, OK; his sisters, Gayyohhi Smith and husband, CJ of Sallisaw, OK, Clarissa Blackbird of Marble City, OK, and Katie Mejia, and husband, Marcos of Marble City, OK; his mother, Lillian Blackbird of Marble City, OK; his granddaughters, Ezra Blackbird and Alex Buzzard; his grandsons, Elias Blackbird and Joaquin Buzzard; 12 nieces, 11 nephews, 7 great-nieces, 1 great-nephew, along with numerous other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Blackbird; his grandpas, Leo Buzzard and Coming Blackbird; his grandmas, Sallie Buzzard and Annie Blackbird; his granny, Sadonnie Cheater.

Family, friends, and all who wish to honor Jim’s memory are invited to attend a visitation on Thursday, August 6, 2026, from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at Forever Memories Funeral Services, Inc, located at 463505 OK-101, Sallisaw, OK 74955. Funeral services will follow on Friday, August 7, 2026, beginning at 11:00 AM at the same location. Pastor Bob Overton will be officiating, with Jeff Cheater, Dimitri Ramirez, Emilio Ramirez, Jesse Buzzard, Terry Cheater, and Ricky Tover as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Martin Blackbird, CJ Smith, and Marcos Mejia.

Jim Lee Blackbird’s time among us was far too brief, but the love, kindness, and memories he leaves behind will continue to shine brightly. He will be deeply missed and gently remembered.
