Graveside services for Larry Stites, 56, of Sallisaw, Oklahoma, are being held at 2:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at the Sallisaw City Cemetery Pavilion under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services.
Larry was born in Sallisaw on May 26, 1967, to Edmund and Gwen Stites. He passed away on Sunday, November 12, in Vian, Oklahoma. Larry was a talented artist, musician, and, in his teens, a gifted athlete in track and football.
Survivors are two daughters, Courtney Stites of Verdigris and Christina and James Pletcher of Claremore; one son, Noah Rumsey of Van Buren, Arkansas; his mother, of Sallisaw; sister, Malora Stites of Sallisaw; two brothers, Eddie and Greg Stites and Dana of Sallisaw; five grandchildren, Gabriel Loyd, Owen Chesney, Kiley Thorp, Stella Pletcher, and Frankie Pletcher; and two nieces, Danna Orendorff and April McInerney, both of Sallisaw.
Larry was preceded in death by his father and brother, Melvin Stites.
Active pallbearers are Bill Stites, Bart Stites, Todd Riggs, B.J. Hicks, Carl Ortiz, and Ronnie Marrion.
