Lorine Virginia Gordon-Byrd passed away at the age of ninety-six, on September 17, 2022, at her home in Sallisaw Oklahoma. She was born on February 22, 1926, to Hilda Mae and James Gordon. Lorine or as most folks knew her “Nanny” was a delightful, funny, loving lady, who loved on every person she met. She was full of spunk; she could outrun her granddaughter until she was 73. She liked to gamble, and garden. What she loved most of all was hanging out, sipping coffee, and gossiping with friends and family.
Mrs. Lorine Byrd was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Ross Byrd; 2 sons, James Daniel Moore and Tommy Moore; her parents, and 4 siblings, George Presley, Floyd Fisher, Francis Myers, and Fox Marie Myers.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law Linda Moore; granddaughters, Nicole Lorine Moore-Gardner, Kari and husband Jeff Harrell, and Aimee Wilson; great-grandchildren, Amber Harrell, Benjamin Gardner, Catelyn Gardner, Maddox Harrell, Tyler Harrell, Devan Wilson, Kadin Wilson, and Jaxen Wilson; great-great-grandchildren, Ryan Harrell, Daxton Aguilar, Dakota Aguilar, Dawson Aguilar, and Kaiya Wilson; great-niece and nephew, Michele Cox and Danny Holderfield.
If you were fortunate enough to meet Nanny, then you loved Nanny. We are all sad to see her go but we also know she is with the lord, Joe, and her 2 boys. We will see you soon Nanny.
A funeral service for Lorine will be held on Thursday, September 22, 2022, at 3 P.M. in the Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services in Sallisaw, Oklahoma.
