Margaret Ann Reese

Margaret Ann Reese, a beloved member of the Sallisaw, Oklahoma community, passed away on June 10, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on October 30, 1935, in Sallisaw, she was a lifelong resident who deeply treasured her roots in this close-knit town.

Margaret was known for her gentle spirit and nurturing nature, qualities that shone brightly in her love for gardening. She found great joy and fulfillment in tending to her garden, caring for her chickens, and cultivating beautiful flowers that brought color and life to her home. Her dedication to these simple yet rewarding activities reflected her appreciation for the natural world and the peace it offered.

A cornerstone of her life was her devotion to family, particularly her grandchildren, with whom she cherished spending time. Family gatherings were moments she eagerly anticipated. She was a regular and enthusiastic participant in church services, finding strength and comfort in her spiritual community.

Margaret is survived by her daughters, Janet Laffoan and her husband, Veron of Gore, Oklahoma, and Donna Wilfong and her husband, Glenn of Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Chayse Barger of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, Gregory Mason of Tahlequah, Oklahoma, and Chanse Wilfong of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; her great-grandchildren—Zaylin Barger, Jacob Barger, and Lilly Mason—who brought immense joy to her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Emmitt Foreman, Kenneth Foreman, and Bob Foreman; her sisters, Elsie Harvell, Carol Fargo, and Sue Taylor; and her companion, Don Craighead.

Margaret Ann Reese’s life was marked by kindness, resilience, and a steadfast commitment to those she loved.  Her memory will continue to blossom in the hearts of her loved ones, much like the flowers she so lovingly nurtured.
