Pamela Doris Peterson, 63, was born on September 16, 1957, in Sallisaw, OK to Samuel House and Edna Sittingdown House. On Thursday, February 4, 2021, she received her complete and total healing when she was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior. Over the years Pam spent the majority of her professional career taking care of others. She worked at the courthouse, spent 27 years with the Oklahoma Department of Human Services and after retiring from the state, she worked as social services director for Sequoyah Manor Nursing Home. She loved working at the nursing home and would still be there today, if able. Outside of work, Pam loved spending time with her family and being the youngest of 10 children, she wasnt much older than some of her nieces and nephews. So she was the “fun aunt”. She would take her nieces and nephews out and about, to movies, to the zoo, cruising around Sonic and on numerous trips to McDonald’s. Later on she would do the same with her grandbabies, who couldn’t have asked for a better Grammy. Her eyes sparkled when she talked about her grandbabies. The love she had for them can’t be put into words. She enjoyed entertaining by having birthday parties, Christmas parties and Superbowl parties, any event that could be celebrated by a party and spending time with family, friends and food. She was also pretty crafty, making wreaths, curtains and “pretties”. Later in life, she discovered a hidden talent in painting, her home is filled with her beautiful artwork. But aside from her family, what she enjoyed the most, was decorating for holidays, especially Christmas. She transformed her home into a magical, Christmas wonderland each year. Pam is survived by her two children, daughter, Keara Walters and son, Eric Peterson, both of Sallisaw, OK. The love of her life, John Girdner of Sallisaw, OK. Three grandchildren, Easton Peterson, Tyson Lindsey and Laiklynn Cullipher of Greenwood, AR. Sisters Pat Cassidy, Lena Mae Harrell, Brenda Capehart and husband Mike, all of Sallisaw, Linda Wheeland of TX. Brothers Donald House of Sallisaw, OK, Kenneth House and wife Agnes of MO. and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ronnie Peterson, her parents, sisters Francis Fargo and Loretta Gamble, brother, Thaduse House, brothers in law C.B. Cassady, R.C. Gamble, Earl Wheeland and Billy John Fargo. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 2:00PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services with burial, beside her mama, in Drakestand Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Forever Memories Funeral Services, Sallisaw. www.fmfsinc.com
