Patricia
Martin
August 19, 1937 – March 4, 2026
Patricia "Pat" Martin, a beloved member of her family and community, passed away peacefully at home on March 4, 2026, surrounded by her family. Born on August 19, 1937, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Pat was known for her warm heart and nurturing spirit. She attended Daniel Webster High School in Tulsa, where she laid the foundation for a life dedicated to her family and community.
Pat found joy in the simple pleasures of life, from sewing, to cooking, and she cherished the beauty of the roses that gracefully adorned the fence of her home. Her dedication to her family, and her love for gathering people together, were evident in her role as a camp hostess at Brushy Lake, where she served for approximately ten years. As a person of the Baptist faith, Pat drew strength and purpose from her beliefs, which guided her throughout her life.
In 1955, Pat married Merle Martin, a union that flourished for almost 71 years, marking one of her proudest accomplishments. Together, they created a loving family, which included their daughters, Angie Stonebarger and Stacy Martin, and son Merle Everett Martin (deceased). Pat's family extended to include her cherished grandchildren: Shawna and Luke Short, Tonya and Gary Knapp, Tanya and Rocky Price, Tiffany Cantrell, Tosha and Chris Trice, Timothy Martin and Kelsey Martin, along with a legacy that includes 20 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren.
Pat is survived by her husband, Merle Martin; her daughters, Angie Stonebarger and Stacy Martin; her sisters, Anita and David West of Sapulpa, Kathy Johnson of Skiatook, and Bobbie Jean Upton of Oklahoma City; along with her special friends, Linda Smith and Kay Shamblin; and daughter-in-law, Teresa Martin.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin McDougal and Louise Hale (Summerall) McDougal; her son, Merle Everett Martin, who passed on January 21, 2022; her grandson, Bradley Boyd "Buddy," who left this world on March 2, 2003; and her son-in-law, Billy Stonebarger, who departed on July 14, 2019.
Pat's life was a testament to love, resilience, and a commitment to family, and she will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her. Her spirit will continue to resonate in the lives of those she touched, leaving behind memories of warmth and kindness.
