Raymond “RB” Boyd Cowett, 84, of Vian, Oklahoma, passed away on April 18, 2023, in Vian, Oklahoma.
RB was born to Herman and Merle Cowett (Ross), in Vian, Oklahoma, on February 27, 1939.
RB married the late Shelba Jean Price on July 27, 1960.
“RB,” as everyone called him, was a farmer and an avid hunter. He loved going to Colorado hunting or hunting around Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. Everyone in Vian, Oklahoma, knew him because he was quite the character! From telling stories or jokes, he was sure to make you laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Merle Cowett; his wife, Shelba Jean Cowett; his daughters, Brenda Alexander and Cheryl Cowett; his brothers, L.D. Cowett and Herman Cowett JR and his sister, Wanda Cowett, Darlene McConnell, amd Crystal Cowett.
RB is survived by his children Paul and Juanita Cowett of Vian, Oklahoma, and Paula and Donald Bolen JR, of Keithville, Louisiana; his siblings Freda Buckner from Blair, Oklahoma, Beatrice Armstrong of Gore, Oklahoma, Thelma Wohl of Blair, Oklahoma; Allene Hebensperger, of Holbert, Oklahoma, Linda Cowett of Blair, Oklahoma, Kathy Holcomb, of Blair Oklahoma, and his grandchildren; Rodney Bolen, Breanna Cowett, Amanda Cowett, Kendal Lee, Danielle Andrews, Cassie Cowett, Nathan Walkingstick, Kaitlyn Priest, Anthony Cowett, Sara Cowett, Erik Cowett, and Jordyn Cowett..
Many friends and family will dearly miss him. He was loved by many. He loved God and was ready to go home.
The family will hold a Memorial Service at 2:00 on April 22, 2023, at Round Mountain Church. A potluck dinner will follow.
