Listen to Obituary

Richard Alan Tramell, 61, of Gore, Oklahoma, was born May 29th, 1965, to James Tramell and Charlotte (Speck) Tramell in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He passed away on August 19th, 2026, in Dallas, Texas. Richard was a 1983 graduate of Vian High School, where he participated in football and was a member of the band. After high school, he worked as a union stone mason, a profession he took great pride in. Richard was quick-witted and had a unique sense of humor; he could turn almost anything into a joke and had a way of bringing laughter to those around him. Family was at the center of his life and meant everything to him. His daughter, Amber, was the light of his life, and as a father, he cherished every moment with her. He was also a proud and loving grandfather to his grandchildren, who brought him endless joy and countless precious memories.

Richard had a wide variety of interests and enjoyed spending time outdoors. He loved hunting and fishing, with deer hunting being one of his favorite pastimes. He enjoyed his horses and spending time with his dog, Max. He was an avid beekeeper and raised chickens, and grew a wide variety of plants—from fruit trees to houseplants—and was also talented at barbecuing and enjoyed sharing his love of cooking with others. He found happiness in the simple pleasures of nature, caring for his animals, tending to his plants, and working with his hands. Whatever he was doing, he worked at it until it was perfect, whether at his job as a stone mason or at home.

Richard leaves one daughter, Amber Tramell (Danny Smith Jr.) of Tahlequah, Ok; one brother and one sister, Bob (Patty) Tramell of Vian, Ok, and Katherine Tramell of Sequim, Washington; two nieces, Marissa Tramell of Muskogee, Ok, and Amie (Richard) Graves of Grove, Ok.; and six grandchildren. Aliona, Natalie, Jonathon, Waylon, Bo, and Gunnar; three great-nieces, one great-nephew, and numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents, Earl and Edna (Johnson) Tramell, and Andrew and Ruby (Taylor) Speck.
