Samuel Ray Woody, 86,of Sallisaw passed away early Sunday morning in a Ft. Smith Hospital. He was born on Mar. 19, 1935 in Hanson to Truman and Alpha Belle (Cullum) Woody. Ray spent his life as a logger and enjoyed spending his spare time with family and friends.
He is survived by his son, Charley Woody of Sallisaw; his brothers, Sidney Newton Woody of Choctaw, OK., and Dewey Woody and his wife Anne of Cedarville, AR; his sister, Euna Jeannette Fields of Hanson, OK; two sisters in law, Diane Pratt of Sallisaw and Judy England of Owasso; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
Samuel Ray Woody was preceded in death by his wife, Sharley Woody, his parents, three brothers, Truman Fay Woody, James Raymond Woody, and Elvin Floyd Woody; sisters, Bertha Lenore Coffman, Donna Alene Sixkiller, Ara Inez Quinton, Charlene Louiza Fields, and two infant sisters.
Visitation for Mr. Woody will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 22, 2021, in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories Funeral Services, 463505 Hwy 101, Sallisaw from 4:00pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will follow on Thursday, Sept 23, 2021 in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel at 2:00 pm with Brother Lee Thornell and Sister Tammy Tatham officiating. Interment will follow in the Brushy Cemetery, Brushy, OK.
