Thomas Watie Allen, 82, a proud Vietnam Veteran and dedicated professional, passed away on April 16, 2026, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. Born on March 5, 1944, in Akins, Oklahoma, Mr. Allen led a life marked by steadfast commitment to his family, his country, and his community. Throughout his career, Thomas was a respected employee and later retired from Baldor Electric, where he diligently served at both the Fort Smith and Westville locations. Mr. Allen’s early years in Akins shaped his enduring love for the outdoors. He cherished activities such as fishing, hunting, and horseback riding, reflecting a deep connection to nature. Over the years, he owned many bird dogs and found particular joy in pheasant hunting during trips to Kansas, embracing the traditions and pleasures of outdoor sporting.
In 1965, he married his beloved wife, Dovie Lavon Allen, with whom he shared nearly 52 years of marriage until her passing. This lifelong partnership stands as one of his proudest accomplishments. A devoted member of the Gans Bible Church, Thomas held his faith close throughout his life.
He is survived by his son, Gary Allen. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lavon Allen; his son, Ricky Allen; his brother, Carrol Allen; his sister, Wilberta Jenkins; and his parents, T.J. and Florence Allen.
