Thomas Wayne Choate

Thomas Wayne Choate, 71, of Vian, OK, passed away on January 2, 2022, in Muskogee, OK.

Tom was born on August 14, 1950, in Marble City, OK, to James Leon Choate and Loriene Kennedy. On June 5, 1970, he married Donna Stephens, the mother of his children. Tom was a Chief Master Sergeant in the United States Air Force where he worked on navigational equipment for F-15 Fighter Planes in Turkey, Hawaii, Desert Storm, Biloxi, MS, and Tuscon, AZ. He attended NSU and became a high school math teacher, teaching at Sallisaw High School for 27 years and retiring after 7 years at Cedarville, AR. He enjoyed staying in cabins, camping, and golfing with his son, Landon. Tom was of the Christian faith. He believed in prayer, loved God, and was proud of his family.

Survivors include, Donna Choate; children, Melanie Parker and husband Troy, Landon Choate; siblings, Velma Blackwood, Robert Choate, Pat Barnoski, and Redeena Butler; grandchildren, Canyon Parker and Austin Parker.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Leon (Buck) Choate and Loriene (Kennedy) Choate; siblings, James Alfred Choate, Manuel Choate, and Marvin Choate.

Visitation for Thomas will be held on Thursday, January 6, 2022, from 4-8 PM

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, January 7, 2022, at 2 PM in the Sequoyah Memorial Chapel of Forever Memories.

Casket bearers are Watie Choate, Rick Rush, Troy Parker, Canyon Parker, Austin Parker, Mike Kennedy, Kelly Choate, and Lance Calhoun. Honorary bearers are Norman Cogburn, Mark Green, and Cleon Harrell.
